About Stock MZEE Z-Girts

The MZEE Z-girts are an extremely versatile cladding support component, and can be used behind almost any cladding system. These are also known as Z-Shaped Furring, Z-Purlins, and Z-Bar’s. The 1” projection can fur out the wall for a drained and ventilated cavity behind moisture sensitive cladding. It can also be used behind a concealed fastener system, as an affordable, and rot-free furring system.

These gauges of Zees are typically used in exterior applications, but can also be used in interior applications, where a heavier duty panel, or more durable support system is required.

We offer both solid and ventilated options, with the vented option allowing for horizontal installation.

Installation Options

The Z-Girts can be installed in a number of ways depending on the cladding needs. In instances where the Z-Girts are used as furring they can be oriented in horizontal or vertical orientations.

Some situations will require more than one layer of Z-girts, one to hold insulation in place, and another to support cladding. Our MHAT Hat Channels are an excellent companion product to the MZEE.
