The MFTAPE S is a high strength adhesive backed mounting clip featuring a single pre applied strip of 3M VHB tape. It is designed for installing phenolic ACM aluminum mirrors and back painted glass where screw fastening is not possible. It is ideal for interior applications with just 1/2″ clearance above the panel. Each clip provides a 0.293″ projection and 3/8″ lift off for precise low profile installations.

The MFTAPE-S Z Clip is a high-strength adhesive-backed mounting system featuring a single strip of 3M™ VHB™ tape for fast peel-and-stick installation. It is designed for installing phenolic, ACM, aluminum, mirrors, and back-painted glass panels where screw attachment is not possible, and is particularly well-suited for interior applications with just 1/2-inch clearance above the panel.

How do I install panels using the MFTAPE-S Single Tape Z-Clip system?

Installation Steps

  1. Choose the location on the wall where your panel will be mounted.
  2. Gather the recommended tools: tape measure, level (spirit or laser), pencil, drill with screws for wall rails, spray bottle with 70% isopropyl alcohol / 30% water mix, and a clean cloth.
  3. Select a wall rail size slightly narrower than the width of the panel to be hung.
  4. Position the rail(s) on the wall and use a level to ensure they are straight.
  5. Secure the rails to the wall using screws appropriate for your mounting surface.
  6. Clean the back of the panel where the MFTAPE-S rails will be attached using the 70/30 isopropyl alcohol solution and dry with the cloth.
  7. Position the top MFTAPE-S rail approximately 1″ from the top edge of the panel.
  8. Position the lower MFTAPE-S rail approximately 3-½″ from the bottom edge of the panel.
  9. Measure the distance between the top and bottom points of the two MFTAPE-S rails on the panel to determine the engagement spacing.
  10. Transfer this measurement to the wall to ensure the wall-mounted rails align perfectly with the panel’s adhesive-backed rails.
  11. Carefully align and lower the panel with the attached MFTAPE-S rails onto the secured wall rails until fully seated.
